ALLEN AND NEITZEY CHAMPS
As a tournament director, I focus on several key factors to ensure a successful event. First and foremost is the location of the tournament, and I’m pleased to say that Eagle Pointe checked that box. Second, the level of competition is crucial. By the end of the week, over 50 players had committed to participating in this event, so that’s another box checked.
Finally, the weather plays a significant role in the tournament's success. I knew that moving the two-man best ball tournament up a few weeks was a bit of a gamble. With the largest snowfall in years hitting the Houston area earlier that week, I might have made a mistake. However, as the week progressed, the forecast changed to predict 75-degree weather with sunshine and blue skies for Sunday, February 2nd, and that is exactly what we got.
