The league is headed into its meat and potatoes of the schedule right now. If you look at our menu, first, you will notice we have four
delicious must-have majors. Next, we have a side order of fresh and new mouth-watering matchplay events. To top it off, golf enthusiasts can savor all of this on a smorgasbord of nine
great courses.
Roland Turner was the first to partake in our fine cuisine at the league's first major, The Masters, at Tour 18 winning by four shots. Our special of the week was the tournament at Northgate.
This dish of a course was garnished with beautiful greens served up with all the trimming and well-managed fairways.
Vincent Gilmore is a member of Northgate but he wanted some good, mouth-watering food. He entered this tournament extremely hungry because he haven't tasted victory since 2019. It looked like he may
miss another meal due to a seven on hole number 4 par three. Vincent eventually devoured everything on his plate then licked the fork at the clubhouse with a slim one-shot lead over Juan
Naranjo.
Juan sat at the table and he began to peruse the menu. He took his time figuring out what would be appetizing to satisfy his appetite for a win. On 18, he needed a birdie to send it to a scorecard
playoff. With everything on the line, the hole shrinks, putts seem twice as long and your heart is going a hundred miles an hour, good luck. His approach was tight about 3 feet which seemed like 10
ft to him with an opportunity to win his first event. He pushed it dead right and it never even came close. I'm sure he makes that putt a thousand times when he's with his guys playing for fun. Juan
finished second without a sweet dessert of victory.
Brayden Hendley finished 3rd he been showing up to the table each tournament. He has been in the top 5 three times this year. He is playing some good golf and he's hungry for a win which
I'm sure will come soon.
This victory gave Vincent 10 wins tying him with Jose Sanchez for third with the most wins in the league's history. Buttttt without any majors, this will put him in an indubious distinction as "The
best player to never win a major." I'm confident that the way Vincent approaches the game, his first major will come very soon. 2014 was his first and worst season with a max handicap of 22.
The wheel has come full circle, and the last is now first. He has his cake and eating it too.
Congratulations on your win and living up to the origin of your name. The meaning of Vincent is "prevailing" from Vincentius and "the one who conquered" in Latin. Good job!
