BEND THE KNEE

I like to think that I'm a pretty good motivator. Whether it was with Crispus Attucks Flying Tigers in high school or Rice University Owls in college, I seem to motivate my teammates when they feel like they have nothing else in the tank. I say all of that just to say this, Jose Sanchez is arguably the best player in the league.
 While taking pictures on hole 9, Jose told me that Trey Smith was a better player. He was convinced that he could not beat him. That kind of knocked the wind out of me because I never expected to hear that kind of low self-confidence from him. So I immediately went into my "Tony Robbin, Vince Lombardi" mode. 
Unfortunately, I can't repeat what I told him because I may need to use it again on one of y'all. But needless to say, Jose caught fire on the back to set a league-scoring record with four birdies and a score of 32. 
I must confess that I am not a good whisperer, but I'm certain Trey overheard me. Trey looked Jose directly in the eye and he refused to bend the knee as if it was a scene from the "Game of Thrones." He matched him shot for shot on the back nine with a 33 of his own. Trey went on the win the match. This competitiveness will continue as they battle the remainder of the year to see who will be King Of The Mountain at HGL. 
Some may be wondering, but the answer's NO! I am not looking over Haja, Jeremy, Roland or anyone. I know everyone has strengths, and you all have something to offer to each tournament. I can't wait to see how this year plays out. Congratulations, Trey, on another great win.
