In the middle of our 2020 season, it's evident we have an abundance of new talent that has never shined so brightly. So far, several players have put their fingerprints on
this season. Todd Ritz, Josh Lewis, and Marc Metze have been playing great golf. They're among the leaders in the league. Among the three new stars, Todd's probably shining the
brightest. In the six events of the year, he has done an amazing and awesome job. He has two 2nd place and two 3rd place finishes to hoist him to the second rank player and second on the
money list leaders in the league. Josh Lewis is probably the best player in the league with his margin for error minuit comparable to the rest of the league. While dissecting Josh's round
Sunday, I was attempting to figure out where he lost the round with 2 under on the front and even par on the back 9. It's hard to "nitpick" such a great round of golf. The third and final guy to help
bring the League to new heights this year is Marc Metze. Marc had a few struggles his first few times out this year but last week he was on fire with his driver irons and putter. There
wasn't any choice because he had three guys on his ass. High handicapper, Jaun Malvue, was hitting the ball extremely well. Due to some of his course management decisions, he didn't win the
tournament. Rodney Griggs and Hal Gregory were playing lights out with a pair of 35s. Hal was winning the tournament until the last four holes when he went 3 over postponing his Hall of Fame
induction. Hal only needs one more win to become the second player in the Hall but the Pitbull has lost a step and a few teeth over the last few years. I am not sure if he can get off the porch
and run with new breed of young top dogs. Rodney "The Closer" Griggs has earned that name so "you better not miss a step down the stretch" because Rodney will run you down and take the money out of
your hand. Don't believe me, the evidence is there... look at his closing scores and if you don't believe that look who is number one on the money list. Marc did not give "The Closer" a chance to
catch him. He played some great golf down the closing holes going 2 under on the last 7 holes. You guys made this was another great tournament and I am looking forward to the rest of the season to
see how it plays out. Congratulations, Marc on your first win as a member of the Houston Golf League.
