The League has introduced multiple events over the years such as "Big Break," "The Olympic Games," and "March Madness." This season we're rolling
out a new event, The Golf Fantasy. We successful achieved a mock run last week. I'm optismistic that once everyone is on the same page, this will be a spectacular, exciting event. The second phase of
this event is public participation in the fantasy games.
The first place winner of the games was Chuck Tolliver. The second place honors went to Gabe Ramos. Chuck's team of seven scored 84 points. Chuck 4 points, Jose 19, Hugo 19, Alvin 14, Joe 4,
Eckford 11, Sean 13. They sqeaked by with a win of two points beating Gabe's team 82 points. Once everyone is comfortable choosing their players, we'll gradually increase to ten dollars and get
players across the country involved. Can you say big money no whammies? Now let's address the white elephant in the room regarding the same players on top of the leaderboard continuously. Every
player's handicap is adjusted after each round and every player is under the same guidelines and stipulations as it regards one handicap. People will formulate and speculate their ideology to fit
their norm a good example of this is watching Fox and CNN cover the same story. You would swear they are talking about two different events. What I am ambiguously trying to say is that everyone's
handicap is looked at and will be adjusted accordingly. Both the two winners of the previous tournament lost two strokes in their next event. This Tournament was a close one and anyone of the top 5
players had a chance to win. Kyle Neitzey, Jose Sanchez, and Hugo played beautiful golf and finished in a three-way tie for third. Trey Smith tried to go back-to-back but finished 2 shots behind the
rookie Carlos Garcia who is differently not playing like one. Started shaky on the back nine but caught fire on the closing 5 holes to go 4 under and a two-shot victory and his first win as a member
of the Houston Golf League. Keep your head on a swivel now cause they are coming after you. Congratulations on your win Carlos Garcia.
