Country Place wins again, no other tournament on The League schedule gives our players fits like Country Place course in Pearland. The past 3 seasons, since Country Place was included on the schedule The League has 78.8 scoring average almost 2 strokes higher than any other course on the schedule and only one player has shot under par in the past 3 years on this Beast. Everyone posted a big number on their scorecard this Sunday and it was survival of the fittest to see would come out on top. It was a close tournament filled with a lot of hopes and false dreams and what ifs and what had happened was. One guy eventually would become victorious, but it would come in a scorecard playoff. Jesus Pulio and Rannel Calixtrio both ended up with a pair of 73s. It was Rannel who would be the 2018 Champion at Country Place. Now you and your daughter are both champions, Congratulations!
This year is shaping up the be the Year of the rookies for the second tournament in a row a rookie has won our event. Did I say, a rookie, he is a 70 old player the league's oldest newest member. Steve Sachs had an up and down round but managed to be on top after a few players lost a few strokes coming in, like Joe Eckford and Chuck Tolliver. Nathan Simcox who is also a rookie in his first season finished second two shots behind the leader Steve. Things are setting nicely for the league's first major, the Masters this Sunday. I promise you rookies will be wearing no white jacket when the smoke clears at Tour 18 this Sunday, congratulations Steve Sachs!
